The Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) is a donor recognition program for individuals, couples and families in their twenties, thirties, and forties who make a minimum individual tax-deductible gift of $1,000.00 to the Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign. BGS members are not just a part of their Jewish communities; they are stepping up and helping to SHAPE their communities. The goal of BGS is to provide an environment where the next generation of business and community leaders can meet, network, and learn.

bgs gold
BGS Gold is a brand new program that creates a new tier within BGS for those members who donate a minimum of $1,800.00 to the Federation Annual Campaign. This donation is 100% tax deductible and goes towards helping local, national, and international communities in need. In addition to being recognized separately in the annual report, BGS Gold members are granted access to certain events that are not typically open to YAD. In addition, BGS Gold automatically provides additional perks, such as complimentary access to all YAD events including the Tzedakah Ball.
bgs platinum
BGS Platinum is the top tier within BGS for those members who donate a minimum of $3,600.00 to the Federation Annual Campaign. This donation is 100% tax deductible and goes towards helping local, national, and international communities in need. In addition to being recognized separately in the annual report, BGS Platinum members are granted access to a wide array of non-YAD events, including select mid-level member-only events and special business networking get-togethers. BGS Platinum members are also granted complimentary access to all YAD events including the Tzedakah Ball.
bgs family
BGS Family is a brand new program introduced to make BGS membership more affordable for couples and families. Traditionally, BGS requires a minimum individual donation of $1,000.00 to the Federation Annual Campaign, regardless of the number of family members signing up. BGS Family allows a spouse to join BGS for as little as $360.00 when there is at least one full-paying household member signed up. This means that a BGS couple membership can start off as little as $1,360.00 (instead of the traditional $2,000.00). Of course, we encourage family members to donate at (or above) the $2,000.00 amount if this is within their means.
what's in a name?
The National Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) of the United Jewish Communities was founded on the principles of David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel. BGS embodies Ben-Gurion's legacy; young men and women combining their power, passion and resources to build a strong and responsible Jewish community at home, in Israel, and around the world. We are those young men and women; there are over 90 of us that are members of the Ben-Gurion Society in the San Diego area.
